I taught in a large school only a couple of years in my career. Between night rehearsals and private lessons I had zero family time. I went back to small schools and enjoyed life again. After 30 years I retired-rehired and taught another 12 very enjoyable years. I highly recommend it for those of you with burnout. Stressing enjoyment of music over competition was very rewarding for my kids and me.
