John B. Alexander HS in United I.S.D. (Laredo, Tx) has an opening for an Assistant Band Director for the 2022-2023 school year.

We are seeking an enthusiastic fit for our team and someone who is a driven, passionate, and knowledgeable teacher. All candidates will be considered, but the following are preferred: a driven and passionate individual with a love for the craft of music education, DCI experience, and a deep understanding of percussion centered pedagogy (spanning from electronics to orchestral approaches with concert literature).

The candidate for this position will have the centered role with all percussion musicians during the Fall semester and may have the opportunity to rehearse and conduct the 3rd performing ensemble – Concert Winds, which has earned Division 1 ratings at the U.I.L. Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation while performing Grade 4 and 5 literature and/or the Award-Winning Drumline – Percussion Theater, and/or Basketball Band, and/or Award-Winning Blue Jazz Winds. This is depending upon the experience level and qualifications of the candidate. Other responsibilities will also be determined according to strengths/qualifications.
