I did retire from the private sector, so I know what I'm talking about. Perhaps, you have the wrong job with the wrong company? Maybe, "research" other companies and get in on some of the perks because they are nice. Starting teacher pay? I made $25,000 a year when I did it decades ago. That included stipend and extra days. I also had a lot of junk dumped on me that had nothing to do with teaching. I also had some dump classes added to my schedule at the last minute. So, I walked away after I was able to and that took about 14 years get my ducks in a row. But, it was worth it and I don't regret not staying in teaching one bit.
