I have taught for multiple decades myself. I think it is very naive to think that even in 2022, that people are not judged on appearance in job interviews, especially in small conservative towns.

Please do not misunderstand me. I am not saying it is right. I am just saying that it still happens.

In theory always hiring the most qualified person is the right move. But it is not the world we live in.

Even in 2022, we still discriminate on who we hire whether it be race, gender or even tattoos.
