The La Vega ISD Band Program, located on the North side of Waco in Bellmead, is seeking applicants for an assistant band director position. The Pirate Bands have had recent success with all competitive groups receiving Superior Ratings at UIL and earning Sweepstakes Awards this year and consecutive appearances at the UIL Area Marching Contest. We have tremendous community and administrative support, a healthy budget, and awesome kids! This position will be assigned to either the intermediate or junior high campus and will be assigned a concert band based on experience and skill level. Summer Band, Monday evening rehearsals, Thursday morning rehearsal, football games, marching festivals/contests, before/after school sectionals, and other events as assigned will be required for this position.

The ideal candidate would have these qualifications:
*Minimum 3 years of teaching/band directing experience
*Very strong classroom management
*Success at UIL Concert/Sight Reading Evaluation
*Woodwind specialist
*Colorguard experience preferred, but not required
