The vast majority of people who want vouchers are people that don't want their kids attending school with colored and/or poor folks. Sorry for that word choice, but it's the damn truth. The fact is, as you said - even with vouchers, many can't afford a full private school tuition. But the difference is, the well-off *can* make up that difference. Poor people can't.

There is a vocal dedicated group of people that want the creation of a permanent underclass in society and will stop at nothing to see it done. ANY attempt to justify this behavior is simply advocating for the re-creation of "separate but equal" schooling. Full stop.

The right to an equal education is enshrined in case law. Vouchers are just yet another attempt to get around that right.
