About the John B. Alexander High School Band:
John B. Alexander High School has incredibly talented students who are motivated, caring, creative, and diligent towards the pursuit of excellence. The musicians and performers of our program are not serviced by a private studio lesson team, but still manage the highest of numbers within our community during the T.M.E.A. All-State process, which shows their diligence and commitment to excellence.
During the Fall semester, the program currently houses the John B. Alexander High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble, which currently stands as the 2019 Bands of America South Texas Regional Champion and 2021 Area G Champion. During the past 4 years the ensemble has grown in all positive aspects and continues to be a positive light in our community, while pushing the bounds of the Marching Arts within the South Texas Community.
During the Spring Semester the program currently has 3 concert performing ensembles (Honors Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Concert Winds) whom all earn Division 1 ratings while executing Grade 5 literature at the U.I.L. Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, our Award-Winning Winter Drumline – Percussion Theater, 2 Award Winning Winter Guard Ensembles – Avant Guard A/B, our Jazz Band - Blue Jazz Winds, and numerous opportunities for chamber music within the program.
The Honors Wind Ensemble (varsity) has advanced to the area level of the TMEA Honor Band process and placed 3rd in 2018. The John B. Alexander High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble recently advanced to the State Marching Contest in Fall 2021 by placing 1st at the Area G competition as well as in Fall 2018 by placing 2nd at the Area G competition.
Our feeder middle school programs, Clark Middle School – United Middle School – Trautmann Middle School are all equally outstanding. All programs execute high level literature and have been successful year to year. This allows our cluster within United I.S.D. to shine as the only cluster with continuous Division 1 ratings from top to bottom.
The backbone of this organization is centered around our continuously supportive Band Parent Association and supportive Administration on campus.
