Ok...I wasn't being snarky at all. I was speaking from experience. I once had a student perform a No Memory Required solo. Made a 1, but when I went to enter him for state, he wasn't on the list of eligible entries. I went back to my printout from the contest and sure enough, his solo was only marked as "1", not "1C". I called the region secretary and explained the situation and it was resolved. From that point on I have always made sure to check everything before leaving the contest.

Now with that said, I was assuming it was a solo issue because I thought class 1 ensembles were automatically qualified if they made a 1. Sounds like in your situation the sub must have needed to do something to grant them the qualification that he/she didn't do. I'm glad you got it resolved and hope you are having a better day today .
