Re: Job Search Timeline
When I got my first job in Texas, I applied with 45 different school districts, got 2 interviews out of that effort, and was hired at TBA at the end of July. Like the other posters have mentioned, there will be positions open up after the 45 day window where the only people who could realistically apply are new grads or people who for some reason couldn't nail down a job (which means there is likely a problem with their resume or job history). Being willing to move anywhere for a job will drastically increase your chances of landing something vs trying to find something in the suburbs of Dallas/Austin/Houston/San Antonio. Demonstrating willingness to take on a challenge, sticking with a school for a few years, and showing your ability to turn a program around in a positive direction definitely count for something when you are looking to move up.
