So, no hard answer there. When I’ve had to hire staff, I usually know it’s coming and preemptively collect resumes, then take the first few I get when the job posting goes up and look through them to find any other good ones to look at. In those situations, my principal has wanted interviews within 2 weeks, so it moves fast.
2). I don’t think there is requirement State wide? Some districts might have a local policy. Personally, I think it’s good professional decorum to given an answer within 48 hours.
Keep in mind you could theoretically accept a job, and then give it up if you get another offer if you’re not within the 45 day rule. Dong that would burn some serious bridges though and isn’t recommended.
