Looking for some help. Someone asked me for recommendations for a resource - online or real world - for learning music reading. Kids are homeschooled (don't want to get into that discussion, just know that these are very stable grounded people that just happen to live in the boonies) 6, 8, and 10. Mom has very limited knowledge from some piano in the distant past. They do have a piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and a few other things. Mom saying that the younger two in particular are starting to show a genuine interest, so she wants to get them going reading music.
I used some things for music theory classes, but not anything that basic. I also used the Alfred books for beginners as a supplement, and I see on youtube that someone has done a unit by unit lesson guide on those books. Just not sure how those hold up with no guidance. Any other resources you know of I would appreciate. I figure especially in light of the last two years some stuff may have popped up that I am unaware of.
