Nobody will care. The community probably already knows unless you are in a large, urban area in which case the community already knows. Literally nobody cares at this point. Plus, every person that takes a home test doesn't get reported so you can bet the number is higher than government reporting for that reason as well. And people aren't being evasive when doing that. My parents both had it. Both tested positive on at-home tests. Only one was officially counted by the state because only one parent had to make a trip to the ER for fluids and oxygen for a few hours. They were tested at the hospital and reported because everyone visiting the hospital is tested regardless of why they are there.
How many families are having 1 positive test officially and then home testing the rest of the family, a few of which may also test positive, but never need official tests to return to school/work/life after the 10 days? They said early on case count was 15 times higher than reported. I suspect that is true today as well.
Before you burn that bridge, have another career option ready to go. Just my suggestion. Admin is a tight knit community and we can say all we want they can't give a bad recommendation but guess what, they will if you are someone that they deem undesirable.
