My school is implementing Nancy Motley's Talk Read Talk Write process to improve literacy. It has been hinted at that this process (TRTW for short) will be an aspect needed to be seen when it comes to evaluations and such. I have been searching the internet looking for examples of TRTW in any MS/HS music class, but have come up short.
I do not like doing things to just check a checkbox. If it requires me to fill a requirement because it is not useful, I'm not going to do it.
That being said, I would like to be a team player and do what I can to help the students. So, my question for the board, does anyone have any actual examples on how to apply TRTW in the performing ensembles? Or do I need to print out articles and pages from the ol college texts and give up rehearsal time (especially as I play catch-up after COVID-19) to be a team player?
