Re: More on mallet mics
I used the micnets for many years with Yamaha Keyboards on Jarvis frames. We have always used the AT2035's. 8-10 years ago we replaced several keyboards and I bought them with the Yamaha multi-frame II carts. At that point I switched to clamps/mic stands/shock mounts due to the frame getting in the way of where I wanted to microphones placed.
I would recommend avoiding goose necks if possible as they will tend to move around and change your mic placement. If you use them, the students will have to be very diligent about checking and being consistent with your mic placement or your sound/balance will constantly be changing.
