I know my life freed up when my child was able to drive. Which didn't help them until they were a junior. So those first two years of band meant my spouse and I had to do everything AROUND the director's schedule. Not easy when one parent is also a band director at a different school and the other is a professional not tied to school schedules.
If you could really get a high school schedule outside of classtime to be 10 football games, 2 marching contests, S/E, a couple of concerts, and C/SR, (which is usually during the day), you might be able to argue parents aren't willing to make adjustments but NOBODY has that high school schedule. We ask an awful lot of a band parent and student these days....
