Re: Football game etiquette
It used to be the norm to contact the visiting director by phone and that’s what I did for years. In the last 10 years I did it by preparing an email packet for the visiting director and inviting them to call my provided mobile number if they had any questions. The packet would contain address of the stadium, map of the stadium showing parking and band seating areas, location in the facility for changing areas, our sequence of pregame activities, a list of dependable restaurants in the area (including those that would deliver to the stadium), my contact info, stadium “rules”, how to best get to the pressbox for filming/announcing and some printable pressbox passes.
It would also include an invite to partake in our band concession stand “meal deals”.
Once this packet was prepared, it was easy to attach and send to any visiting school. Most never called me with questions, but I was always willing to help.
