Stephenville ISD is located in Stephenville TX, 66 miles southwest of Ft. Worth. Stephenville ISD is a 4A high school with 155 students in the band program and growing with 2 competing concert ensembles, a jazz ensemble, indoor percussion and winterguard programs. The CC middle school program has 290 6-12 students. SISD has outstanding support from administration, parents and the community.
The position will serve as an assistant band director and will teach the high school non-varsity band, assist with marching band and junior high bands, and teach beginner high brass classes at the 6th grade campus.
Candidate should be able to exhibit the following:
•Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
•Extensive knowledge of state and UIL policies governing band.
•Marching band, concert band & beginner rehearsal techniques are required as all band staff works at all campuses.
•Candidates should be able to show success in developing a quality band program and in recruiting and retention.
•Applicants must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, Texas teaching certificate also required.
•Minimum 3 years teaching experience preferred.
•High brass specialty preferred. Drum corps experience preferred but not required. Colorguard experience is a plus.
•A CDL is strongly recommended.
All band directors at SISD team-teach 6-12. SISD band program is an active in all UIL, ATSSB and NTCA competitions and we are looking for an energetic, positive, and motivated individual to continue a growing a competitive band program and give our students the best musical education.
