My advice would be:
1. Call around to various music stores to ask about potential openings. I know thatís very old school, but can still produce results.
2. Contact anyone in your personal network. College profs, college band alum, any directors and any admin that you have a channel with in your career. Contact them even if you donít think they could be of use in getting leads. My second job was a lead from an old high school alum who went to the same church as a school board member. They had been talking and my friend brought up my name. That was not only a lead but a tremendous help in securing the job. I had only been teaching two years.
3. Bring your resume etc to TBA. Many jobs are filled during that convention. Bring some nice ďinterviewĒ type clothes as well.
4. If possible, be open to moving anywhere in the state. I do realize thatís not always possible with spouse employment etc.
best of luck and keep after it!
