Re: Kids Quitting- extremely discouraged
As long as parents aren't complaining, then administrators don't care. Administrators really only care about how many phone calls or complaints that they get. In the electives where kids do nothing but fart around or sleep and get a "100" for a grade, parents don't complain because kids don't gripe about not having to do anything. In band, where they are expected to follow rules and actually work, it seems to rub some of today's kids the wrong way. They gripe about how "mean" the band director is and how band is "too much work" or "too hard" or "not fun." Not in all schools but I've seen this in some communities. Unfortunately, usually a FEW rural ones. Not all, but some.
