Re: Word of advice to HS directors mad about numbers
Coming from out of state and knowing the reputation that texas has I thought middle school would be a good fit work wise. Boy was I wrong. These high school heads have it easy on the day to day. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad.....I realize there is a lot of extra hours and politicizing that needs to be done.... but on the day to day the HDs have it easy. The fact that there is time to visit the middle schools and they donít, makes me wonder what they do with that time. Your basic HD has two , maybe three classes a day they are responsible for and some of the extra duty stipends involved approach first year teacher pay in other states. While the middle school people are wall to wall with young musicians who need more care than just learning to play.
Sorry, had to get that off my chest.
