Greetings from the University of Texas-Arlington!
I would like to personally invite your students to be a part of the 2021 Summer Band Camps at UTA. In a year where very little has been “normal” we are able to offer in-person day camps for both our concert band and drum major, colorguard, and leadership camps! We will also be offering a virtual component to our drum major, colorguard, and leadership camps for those who are not close enough to commute.
Our five-day camps feature some of the top instructors in our field including current band directors, private teachers, and instructors from throughout the state and country.

The UTA concert band camps are excited to offer an in-person experience for your band students! We know that some students may not have had the opportunity to play in an ensemble setting this year. Following the Colorado aerosol study of COVID precautions, we are preparing to offer a fantastic five days of ensemble and sectional instruction as well as a different elective each day where students will learn about music in film, electronic looping, jazz, conducting, and other topics! Chris Meredith, Alicia Desoto, Jessica Maus, James McNair, and Christin McNair will be some of the instructors for this camp. The students are in for a great experience!

The UTA marching band camps have again partnered with Forward Leadership (a part of the Madison Scouts organization) for our leadership curriculum and our drum major team consists of former drum majors from the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, and Cadets. Since each band program is different, drum majors focus on clarifying their current style of teaching and conducting rather than changing it to something that may not work for your program. There are also colorguard basic skills, advanced skills, and leadership tracks. We take the summer band camp opportunity to teach your students very seriously and hope you will consider sending your students to UTA!
Additionally, all summer band camp proceeds go to support scholarships for music students at UTA. When you send a student to a UTA summer band camp, not only will they have a great experience, but you are also supporting the next generation of music educators!

Have a wonderful end to your school year.
