Palestine ISD is looking for a dynamic team player who will be a valuable part of our 5 person team who team teaches on all 3 campuses in the district. The Palestine Wildcat Band is in the middle of a huge growth spurt in its participation over the past 3 years going from 76 to 170 at the HS level. Palestine ISD offers beginner band at both the intermediate school and Junior High, 3 JH Bands, HS Marching Band, 3 HS Concert Bands, Winterguard, Indoor Winds, and an extra-curricular Jazz Band. We are a growing program and we are looking for someone who is: flexible, willing to teach all levels of students, and is a team player who is open minded. Duties will include teaching beginner brass at the Intermediate school and JH, the 2nd JH Band, the 3rd HS Band, assisting with Marching Band rehearsals, and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Bands. The administration is extremely supportive and has purchased new instruments, new uniforms, a new truck and trailer, and the building of a new band exclusive practice field all in the last 2 years. The preferred candidate would have a brass specialty, but all specialties will be considered as we are looking for the best teacher and team player. Palestine is a 4A/2C school district. All interested applicants need to e-mail Adrian Alonso, Director of Bands, with a cover letter, resume, and references. Candidates must also apply on the district website at the link provided. Not all applicants will be contacted. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
