There are 400 kids in her school. "Specials" are on a rotation - art, music, and PE, which is doubled. The other day, they have tutorials and interventions.
She sees those 400 kids in 30 minute increments once a week. That's it. I don't know about you, but to me, it's very, very difficult to teach little kids ANYTHING in half an hour a week. Especially in class sizes of 25+ with no aide and no assistant.
So don't knock the elementary teachers for sending kids "completely unprepared" if the elementary teachers are being put in situations where they can't prepare the kids for much of anything.
