Agreed. I always set up rehearsal space. I would enlist kids help or better was when they took ownership of it but I never thought chairs and stands were below me. The above poster made it sound like it wasn't their job as the assistant director. My question was if it isn't the directors jobs, (plural), then whose job was it. The kids don't set up the cafeteria before they eat. The kids don't walk into math class and set up before they learn math....

I have always outworked my assistants and my students. Not because I am a martyr but because I always believed that kids would work 90% as hard as I did and I would never ask my assistants to do something I wouldn't do therefore I had to be the hardest working person in the program if I was going to expect that out of my staff and students. Now, I would also delegate responsibilities but it wasn't because it was beneath me but because it was a better use of time and talents and responsibilities.
