Re: Time in between pieces
Judges are not running stopwatches & neither should directors. As an older judge I have seen most everything imaginable between tunes. I have seen directors retune to absurdity. This is not the time or place. Allowing enough time for water keys to be emptied and a squeaky reed quickly changed seems acceptable. Minimizing time between tunes in a mult-movement work seems to help the flow. I have seen directors face the judges between tunes waiting for a signal to go on. Unnecessary. Just use good judgement and realize there are schedules to be respected.
