I have a side gig of running the pep band at the university just to the north of me. The pay is good for a part time gig. The same university posted an assistant position for the music department (I actually work for athletics, not music) and the pay was not very close to what I’m making as the band director at my school. Almost 20k different.

As far as working with college kids, it’s not all that different in the age is really close to what I work with at the high school, but it’s REALLY nice that after a game, I say THANKS FOR BEING HERE and I leave. Don’t have to wait on any parents to come pick anybody up.
