Find yourself a mentor teacher. See if that teacher can visit and watch you rehearse your group practicing sight reading. If they can't, send them a video of you practicing sight reading. Above all else... practice sight reading! Nearly every day. I usually read something that's between 8 and 32 measures each day, and then once or twice a week I pull out a full piece from the past years' contests. Sometimes we do a speed run and I only take 1 minute to explain (or not at all), and sometimes I do it exactly like it will be, timed and everything.
1. Find a mentor nearby or who can watch your videos.
2. Practice as much as you can!
