When I apply for a job online I also send an email, my resume, and my cover letter to the Head Band Director (if I'm applying to be an assistant), the School Principal, and the District Fine Arts Director or any other point of contact listed on TMEA.

After that I don't really do anything. I've done my due diligence. I've officially applied for the job and directly contacted multiple people. If they want to interview me, they'll contact me.

But it might be fine to send a follow up e-mail after a week or two.

Sometimes I get acknowledgement of my application or to tell me that I haven't been chosen for an interview and sometimes I get no response which is understandable if they've received a lot of applications. It just depends on the person and the job.
