Re: Double Reed Marching Secondary
While we have had double reed players play in the pit, bass line, and do guard, over time most of them now play sax. It has become sort of the 'cool thing' that they play sax in our jazz bands, and have even had a couple end up as lead players.
Double reed players (that are successful enough to have gotten to HS) are generally motivated and have a high level of frustration tolerance. That generally also makes them pretty adaptable and successful in taking on new things.
