Re: Percussion Rhythms in UIL Contest
I've done a lot of re-writing to help my kids be successful. Drop flutes down an octave, keep clarinets from going over the break, take trumpet parts down lower, etc. I've simplified lots of percussion parts as well. For a contest situation, I've never made a part MORE complicated or challenging - I don't take parts UP an octave, and I don't add additional rolls or complex rhythms to percussion parts.
