North Forney High School is a 5A school in Forney ISD. Forney is a fast-growing community that supports the arts to the fullest and has been named a six-time NAMM Best Community for Music Education district. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with not only the high school program but to also work to develop strong vertical alignment with feeder programs. The North Forney High School band program has seen success at many levels and was a 2020 5A State Marching Contest participant. The color guard participates in the NTCA circuit and the percussion program has been invited to Midwest and PASIC this past year. Program is highly supported by campus and district administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
*Certification: Valid Texas or other state teaching certificate - All Level Music
*Previous High School band experience required
*Demonstrate success as a band director

APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE:
*Enthusiastic instructional skills to manage and direct the North Forney HS band cluster instruction in grades 6‐12 with a goal towards continuous improvement in student performance, participation, and success in the program.
*Ability and desire to collaborate with and provide leadership for the fine arts faculty at North Forney HS.
*Expertise in music curriculum and instructional methods, leading to the preparation of advanced band literature to an exemplary level of performance.
*Organizational and instructional skills to develop and maintain a high-quality marching band program that is aligned with current design trends.
*Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through efficient use of staff, materials, and resources, while ensuring all district and booster club funds are expended transparently and in the best interest of the organization.
*Evidence of communication skills to promote a shared vision of the program, while fostering harmony and teamwork with students, parents, colleagues, campus staff and central staff.
*Leadership and communication skills to maintain a positive working relationship with the students, parents, booster club and community.
*Possession of the highest standards of professional integrity and respect in student, parent, school, and community relationships.
*Leadership skills to manage and guide instructional and support staff such as percussion, color guard, and private lesson music instructors.
