Re: Class One Flute Solos
My students found Syrinx to be very playable for first time class one flute solo entries. Interpretations and tempos can vary a bit and students do not need to feel restricted to the pro recordings interpretations (James Galway for example). If your flute players like Impressionistic music check out the Sessions ensemble book. It has a number of trios and quartets on the UIL list. The "Sessions Ensemble Collection" is arranged by Livingston Gearhart and Frederick Wilkins and published by Shawnee Press Inc.
