I have a student performing a clarinet solo with a cadenza. I just trimmed the audio file to have four seconds of silence before continuing. I manually pause the audio while they play the cadenza then start it again when it lines up with their solo. As long as you practice it there should be no issues.


I use audacity to record the audio playing then trim the silence in the piano track.
