I've never used SmartMusic or recordings of piano accompaniment for S&E, but this year we are having to do that.

What happens when there is a cadenza mid-piece or a portion where accompaniment drops out? Is it acceptable to have metronome clicks? Does the met have to "turn off" as soon as piano re-enters?

Same for solos that may start off with the soloist "a capella" for, like 16 bars. How do you make a recording of that?
