Yes it does take work to enter a new field.

The problem though, is not teachers not wanting to get a certification or a degree, but that conditions in a lot of areas are bad and getting worse that teachers want out immediately.

They want out now and want to know what they can do with their current degree outside the education field that will provide a paycheck for them while they are working towards a new certification, new degree or new career.

Right now it is hard for a lot of teachers to see a light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel just keeps getting longer and longer and darker and darker. As the joke goes if you are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, it is probably an oncoming train.
