When I was at a suburban 5a as a middle school assistant, the HS paid me as a contractor to write marching drill. The had already been paying for drill, so they just made the case since I was in house they’d save time and money on adjustments/rewrites. At the rural 4A I’m at, the guy I replaced always wrote his own drill without compensation, so when I took over I knew they’d expect the same. I farm it out to a professional and pay for it.
