The snare/tenor drum line that drives the piece kinda makes it for me. Moving that line to less articulate hand drums might not have the same effect?
I don't love the xylo/chime part in the B section. Reworking that with marimba could be an improvement. I've always assumed he is carrying over articulate-ness from the snare/tenor part in the A section, but it has always seemed a bit awkward to me.
Anyone know why it was removed from the list?
