The HD 300 that is coming out this semester is only $600. I'd deal with the old one for now and then get the new one. I've never tried to fix one but had success with our repair guys from the music store. They had a commercial music wing of the store where there was guys use to fixing things like this. For us, I think we got charged around $100 for the repair. I believe it was fixed by Tarpley music in west Texas.
