Have the resume reflect what you have done as an assistant. You won’t be able to put any HD stuff on there until after you become one. No matter how great an assistant you were, there is a huge learning curve once you become an HD, especially at a large 5a or 6a. Learning that skill set feels like your first couple of years teaching where you were just trying to keep your head above water from week to week. I can tell you that as an assistant there are things you can only learn from being in the HD chair. Stuff not even on your radar. Your perspective will change greatly and may even cause your opinions to 180 from your current ones as an assistant. The best thing I think you can put on there is to be able to show that you have a huge “plate” and can keep a lot of balls in the air and not let anything fall.
