Good luck. Those positions don't open very often, and there's a ton of competition for them.

You may be better off going for a medium to large-ish position in an exurb or medium sized town or single-high school district for a couple years to "learn the ropes" of being a HBD before you move into a suburban job. It'll also look good on your resume. Being a HBD at a 4A or 5A school - or even a 3A - is much different than being an ABD at a 5A or 6A.

Without HBD experience, you likely will not even be chosen for interviews unless you know the interviewer.
