Re: You WILL go to UIL
First, I think it is important that we have a civil discussion about UIL, not just bash away because someone's opinion is different than our own. With that in mind - I am not at all sure why anyone would think UIL, especially Concert and Sightreading Evaluation is about money at all. It is about giving the students a goal to work towards. Almost as important, I believe UIL, and participating in UIL will help keep teachers in our jobs. You may think it is not relevant, but I doubt you complain much on the 15th and 30th of each month. I would venture to guess participating in UIL is in your job description.
I hope those that feel they should not participate to try and see a bigger picture. There are really no good answers this year....
