And keep in mind their positions are not what would make sense. They are not employed by UIL. They have to create their own corporation that handles the finances and payroll to themselves. I think a few years ago I would have aspired to possibly have that job some day, but it seems like a massive headache. Why UIL doesn't treat it as a job through them I can't understand...
I'm sure that they can be removed, one was a few years ago for financial misconduct, but most of the time I think it's a chosen retirement. For most of them it's their way to stay in touch with our profession - and they do a lot of hard work. Even when I get annoyed with ours I respect the heck out of the amount of work that they do!
Knowing a number of Exec Secs, most of them are not 'spring chickens.'
