30 year guy here. Majority of time has been at the middle school level. My experience has seen:


1) HD would leave after 1st Period Varsity Band. Would not return to campus until afternoon/evening rehearsal. Staff covered ALL of the paperwork.

2) HD would consistently showed up in time for 2nd Period NV Band. His Varsity group was 1st Period!

I don't have much respect for this position in general. I've not had much of an opportunity to work with a "Professional" 5A/6A HD. I'm not sure what happens to these guys.

Btw, I am at a 2A where I teach PK-12.
