I know that almost everyone either does a show by Luke or Barry Hurt, but there's a reason for it, they are great at writing for small bands. Honestly I would stay away from Gilroy, nothing against him or his music, but I find it to be "sneaky" hard. (looks easy, but isn't) One of the reasons I use Luke is his willingness to rewrite parts to help the music fit your band better and he's an overall good guy too. Thinking about this, Randall Standridge has a few shows that are also good for smaller bands, you might check him out too.
