It depends on what you're looking for in a drum. To narrow it down to a brand name is like asking if you want McDonals or Burger King. They both have their advantages, and you're still getting a burger, either way. If you're buying for a school, I'd just look for a thick drum that fit my budget. If you're looking for you, go somewhere you can try them out, and find out which one is best for you. (TMEA is good, normally. Lone Star Percussion in the Dallas area might be able to let you sample if you drive up there.)
