I think the opportunity to take advantage of a year where some strong band programs could possibly have to sit out a potential state bid was too good to pass up.
So I can see why a South Texas school in the corpus area would jump at the opportunity if the smaller schools in the valley are not participating.
The Area is harder so letís hope they have at least 10 bands so at least two schools can advance.
I do give huge props to schools that try to make their life as normal as possible. The political pressure in some parts of the state were a huge and the media and current administration covering it in two different ways was also very difficult to make choices.
And also a huge sympathetic hand to any of the choral programs that are able to survive this pandemic.
I know that many schools participated in the region tryouts for both band and choir so huge pat on the back to them as well.
Itís no secret that you do feel massive regret when you look into students eyes as they see neighboring bands putting on shows and spending money on costumes as they sit in chairs on the track and only play stand tunes and wonder why not them on that field.
