Re: Private schools
Since you did not cite your source, I had to hunt for it until I found it on the TMEA site. The problem is that you think that private schools enjoy all of the benefits that public schools enjoy without any problems or setbacks. You seem to be operating under the assumption that band programs in private schools get all of the funding. Most private schools have only one director, limited access to kids, and a small budget. Private school band programs suffer from class pull-outs for testing, sports, cheerleading, popsicle parties (you think I'm kidding?), and all sorts of other garbage you can't imagine. I ask that you contact a private school band director and have a conversation with them. You'd be surprised the junk they have to put up with just to have class.
