Re: Social Distance ‘when possible’ aka not at all
Thank you. That's what I want to ask all these people complaining and telling us how woke they are by how many feet they can space their kids out. What I really want to know is how many bands are super-spreading. How many bands following ALL the guidelines versus how many bands running life as usual versus how many bands are in between. From what I can see, many places have learned how to "live" with the virus. I know that isn't a very popular comment to some folks but the reality is, if you aren't a teacher or government employee you need as much business as usual as possible. College football, pro football, NBA, Baseball, and high school sports all seem to have found a way to function. The mental health of this alone is worth it but the economics of it also matter, (those bus drivers that need to be on the road and especially picking up the overtime for those football games), etc.
Are the schools not spacing 20' apart in their rehearsals and only playing outside really having fewer cases or fewer issues than those that can't do that but are trying to provide an education for their kids anyway? Just wondering.... From what I'm seeing in my child's school, they are having a few cases but keeping a decent track of contact tracing and the overwhelming majority of the cases have no symptoms. This is an urban 6A high school with, (based on emails and timelines), about 20 active cases currently.
