Re: Social Distance ‘when possible’ aka not at all
Yea, so, we just had a positive. Had my students been socially distanced we would only have one student out for quarantine, now we have 9. Now that being said, our band hall is not big enough to hold the size of our group with being at 6 feet. It was raining and cold outside so we stayed inside and did music for that one day that the child was covid positive without anyone knowing (including the child.) I'm honestly worried that we should have probably quarantined the entire band. I'm hoping I didn't get it because I find myself removing the mask to get points across during rehearsal but only briefly. Since I was on average more than 20 feet away from the affected student and only briefly took my mask off (not longer than 15 minutes at a time) I was deemed to be safe to come back to school and teach. Guys, I don't know what to say about all of this. I know some directors who have gotten really sick lately and sooner or later one of our directors in this state will die from Covid. We're literally the most exposed people teaching I think. When you can, please have your kids as far away from eachother as possible. Our kids like to interact and not distance. We constantly have to remind about masks and distancing but then stick them in the stands at shoulder width apart and that should be no problem? Yea, I was told that by my admin. God help us all.
