Re: Region transfer
We petitioned to change regions two years ago and it was approved. Your superintendent needs to write a letter to the UIL representative for the region you would like to join. I actually wrote a letter outlining all the reasons, then forwarded it over to my super to read and modify if he felt necessary. This letter will probably be read by the new UIL rep, TMEA rep, & ATSSB rep if applicable because of school size. They will more than likely communicate with your current region about your program and if there are an reasons to deny the change. These reasons could be many things, but I've always thought it dealt with your punctuality in submitted required paperwork and your working relationship with other directors in the current region. The entire process took about a month before hearing results. It was not a rubber stamp.
Our primary reason for changing regions was the distance to competition for our students. We went from everything 3 hours away to 15 minutes with the change.
